In the reporting of that item there is a sentence that states; “The association claims to have official document showing that in 1949, the MoD ordered a cover-up of the destroyer’s involvement” 

Immediately following that there is the paragraph that I now quote, *Bob Ainsworth, UK Armed Forces Minister, said the crew did not qualify for the Yangtze Clasp because the destroyer was never in the war zone and the men were never in mortal danger. * Unquote. 

Being attached to this item you will find a copy of a letter from Bob Ainsworth, the UK Armed Forces Minister, it is dated 18th November, 2007 and was sent to Member of Parliament, Jim Devine, to you and all as sundry note the terms within Mr Ainsworth’s, letter. 

Further; also being attached is the copy of a telegram that was sent out by no lesser a personage than H.M. Ambassador Sir Ralph Stevens, who was stationed within the H.M. Embassy, Nanking, his telegram is dated 31st July 1949 note what he states regarding H.M.S. Concord.
