    We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to: 'Find remedy
    and reparation to the wrongful exclusion of H.M.S. Concord,
    from the 1949 Yangtze Campaign Awards System.'

    Being held under the reference DKNS 1 within the Churchill
    College Archives Centre, Cambridge, are papers and  naval
    signals concerning the "Amethyst Incident" along with the
    writings of Rear Admiral Sir David Scott.

    The papers, naval signals and writings of Rear Admiral Sir
    David Scott, establish's the fact that on the 30th July 1949
    was ordered into the Yangtze Kiaing River, to train its
    armament on the Woosung Forts, on that river, in readiness to
    respond, in the event of Amethyst being fired upon while
    passing that location.
